4 day weekend

So i am totally for four 10hr work days in order to have a three day weekend. When i get four days it seriously feels like a mini vacation to me. Especially when its as fun as the last one was.

I got out of work early last wednesday and was so excited for the holiday weekend that i broke out my old christmas tree. I figured waiting till the day before thanksgiving was long enough.

Not even one hour after decorating it June somehow knocks it off the table. I dont know how she managed to even get to it but somehow got to the center of a 5' X 5' square table. I can only assume she was chasing a shadow one of the Christmas lights were making. I was so pissed. She broke one of the super cute cupcake ornaments Geoff's mom just got me! Luckily, the shark was spared.

We got to hangout with Chris and Es while they were out visiting.
Watched Geoff play 3 games at the corona turkey bowl in the extreme cold and windy conditions. Being around Jolene and Es made it worth it.

We had the Ron's sit at the heads of the table. Geoff looks like such a prep in this photo. He doesnt even drink wine either.

Geoff has always been a slim dude so to see this is shocking. people joked with him and said, "wait till you get married..." but we both didnt believe it would actually happen to him. its a fact now. and i love it!

Theres no chance you'll ever see me black friday and i didnt even get pictures of the insane people who spent that cold cold thanksgiving night outside waiting for stores to open at 3am. Its for the birds.

changing it has become part of my morning routine.

i think its the combo of the holidays + not living with my friends anymore + things breaking/going wrong that he would normally take care of that makes it harder this time.
at least its only a month this time and its been flying by.

if you're the praying type please tell God to let our offer on a house get accepted. we will find out from the bank by friday. we really want this and are trying to start our life together and this would be a huge blessing and help us out a lot. supposed to find out any day now

then after that got my car washed at a fund raiser.
these guys were no joke. 6 people per car!


then drove out to linkfest. picked up a couple hitch hiking metal heads on the way. there was ZERO cell service so while i was hiking the sketch trails to the stages i thought i was arriving an hour and a half early. False. all of a sudden i hear thommy singing and guitars a blasting.

got to see winds of plague and as i lay dying play. also saw tony from no doubt there.

finally got to eat at taco loco. delish late night snack but kinda on the pricey side for just mexican food.

worked a gorgeous reception on sunday at the huntington hyatt. i love working at the big hotels. the staff there is always so nice and super helpful. makes our job easier. this couple was really sweet and amanda transformed that ball room into a warm, intimate and love cave filled with custom gobo's, swanky vase' and TONS of white flowers.

running around redlands in face paint in the blazing sun all day? why not!
it was a lot of fun and SOOOOOO many people came out later in the day for this one scene where we are just a mass of zombies running. T from White Collar Side Show was directing it and making it all. i saw some of the stuff they got of the guys the day before and its going to look creepsville. cant. freaking. wait. mama dawn says she thinks they are going to have a release party on halloween!

so ya, no rest this weekend. but i loved it allllll

this weekend is going to be one of the best and busiest weekends ive had in a long time. and i am so excited. i love a busy schedule.

+ tonight: SG is having a listening party at Best Buy in san bernadino. come and hang out! starts at 5:30

















+ tomorrow: my first day as an assistant wedding coordinator! im got an internship with InTheNow. stoked!
then its Sleeping Giant's release show. i LOVE their new album. so much spirit, so much love, so much passion all for God. just beautiful. i cant wait to worship God with everyone there. if you want to carpool or whatnot let me know! i hope to see you all there. oh! and i think i heard they are giving out free cd's at the door. not 100% though.

















+ Sunday: it seems to be the day of departures. none too final though (God, willing).
Heather and grayson are moving away up to washington and geoff the guys leave for tour that night after tithemi. im not sad or pouty about it. don't get me wrong, i will miss him a lot! especially since ive gotten so used to being around my best friend everyday. but geoff is finally going to be out touring again and i know how much that boy has missed the road! and all the amazing things they do for God, who couldn't be thrilled about it? plus its only two months. NDB.


also, i have yet to hear back from Chapman. i called them on tuesday and they said they still haven't come to a decision. frick. im going to take that as a bad sign.

decisions pending...

i sent in my completed application on February 28th.
i heard back from them a couple times asking for me to resend my letter of recommendation and for my high school transcripts. people told me that them asking for my high school grades is a good thing, but if you knew my high school grades you'd know that its not haha. i wasn't a idiot or anything. just wasn't motivated. not like how i am now which is why the tone of my essays were: please ignore my younger years and see how much i have changed in the past two years...im an A/B student now all while working full time and going to school at night full time.
i just want to know already!

till then, im just sitting in this waiting room.
this whole summer is basically a waiting room for geoff and i. seeing where God takes the band, tour, work, money situations, school, a lot of big decisions this summer... just have to wait and see what God's planned. but im going to have fun till then

starting with memorial day! im so sunburned! just waiting for my mexican half to turn it into a tan because it feels like i am constantly receiving a indian burn all over my body. and i feel like weak sauce for being so sore after a game of softball and kickball. then the festivities continued at the shack with bbq-ing, swimming, karaoke, and games. some priceless video footage will be posted soon. (i finally figured out how to work my video camera with my comp but i really don't like using imovie) seriously, i have amazing friends. i love all of you that came over and hung out. made my day. i was so tired after that long day. up early for a crepe breakfast that jojo prepared for us and then june started ralphing all night :( lets recap everything she ate that weekend that wasnt from her dog bowl:

i know im no music critic but the new sleeping giant is so amazing! i cant stop listening to it. once i understood what he was saying, tommys lyrics are so moving haha. j/p. there's a lot more singing in this one which i love but it still has heavy breakdowns. the over all recording of the album is much better quality than the last one. and its over 45 mins long! cant wait for you guys to listen to the whole thing. beautiful worship. you can pre-order it now too. youll get the cd a few days sooner then the release date and a shirt.

California, you disappoint me. and to the Christians, where is Christ's love in all your discrimation? please show me.

bring your dog to work day

i came home last week to a note on my door saying the gas company has to change our gas meter out and that i needed to leave the side gate unlocked and tie my dog up. for june and my neighbors sake i wasn't about to chain her to the basketball pole again. its too hot outside now and she barks and cries if i do that. so i decided to declare friday Bring Your Dog to Work Day. one of the few perks to working for your family.

as you can tell... june had a rough day.


and then she discovered the fish tank:


she got so excited and she would chase the fishes from one side of the tank to the other, snapping her teeth at them trying to bite them through the glass. shes was so cute.

after work i decided to try out The Paw Spa, a do it yourself dog grooming place in corona. the place is legit with different sized bathtubs and all the things you would ever need to groom. the lady that runs it was really cool and helped me out a ton! see, june is what you would call "dog aggressive". she HATES other dogs and naturally, there were dogs everywhere in that place. she was lunging with her lips up, teeth out, aggressively barking at rots, dobermans, and poodles. it was so embarrassing. the lady even started yelling at june in german which worked for about 15 secs. then she was back losing her cool.
after that i decided to try and introduce her to my moms dog, Jack thru the fence in her back yard. that was a bust. i need the dog whisperer. even classes haven't helped her. she loves people though.

then, to top off the bad dog behavior, i baked a bunch of blueberry muffins for brenda and jojo to sell at their rummage sale on saturday morning. well, after i was done baking them i went up to the church to help them set up and since it was 11:30pm i didn't want to lock june out and have her bark and piss off the neighbors again so i left her in the house. when i came home there was 12 missing and the only ones left were the muffins i left in the cupcake pan.
no paper wrappers to be found.
not a crumb.
only four little june hairs on a cookie sheet.
it was totally my fault for leaving them on the counter where they are easily accessible to her if she stands on her back legs.

in other non boring to you news:
- i got a postcard from chapman saying that they have my full application and will NOW evaluate it. so i probably wont hear back from them till after the holiday weekend.
- been listening to the new SG album all day today. its so amazing. i cant wait till you hear it for yourselves. (no i wont burn you a copy)
